Sorry I didn't email last week but not a lot of stuff happens anyway! The weeks just fly by.
Well we had a fantastic opportunity last Saturday! Elder Cook came to our mission! He was on island just to train all the stake presidents and bishops but he took some time with the other general authorities to speak with us and take a picture! They shared some very powerful testimonies of the savior and let us do about an hour of questions and answers. I left the meeting filled with the spirit and loved the opportunity.
Our work is going really well here in LinKou! We are getting more and more investigators every week and I am so excited to see all of their progression. My personal favorite right now is a family from Russia! They are so awesome! They came here for work but because they are foreigners they get pretty excluded and bullied. (We know how they feel.) They are already orthodox christian so they are really faithful and trust god. But when we shared the first vision and the restoration, they accepted it with no problems and graciously took the Book of Mormon. It was an incredible experience and I can't wait to see how they continue to progress in their conversion process! God really blessed me to be part of it and see it as it moves along.
We have others like Eric who is very interested in the Book of Mormon and is now trying to repent and be better! I am so excited with all the work here!
OH! Also, here's a really funny story:
My birthday was a couple weeks ago and I bought a cake to make but I never got the opportunity until last week. The real problem though is that here in Taiwan no one has an oven. Our apartment only has a small toaster oven. AND....... A rice cooker.
Yep! I used a rice cooker to make a birthday cake! HAHAHA! (Found out about half way through that the rice cooker is actually broken though so I just burned the whole cake and made a smoke bomb...) But if I had a not broken rice cooker it would've worked and it would've been delicious!
Love you all so much!
